Room to run

An enclosed recreation ground with a MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) and two football pitches you can book online, youth football at weekends and a play area we are working to reopen.

The recreation ground sits right beside the Village Hall: big enough for football, fêtes and sports days, with the MUGA, a fenced, all-weather court for basketball and five-a-side football.

Fivehead Park: Play On

The play area has been closed since August 2025 because it is not safe to use as it stands. Our current Play On target is £60,000, focused on reopening and improving the play area. We are obtaining quotations, and the target may increase as costs become clearer. Our longer-term ambition includes the wider park, extra parking, and improvements to the Village Hall and other buildings.

Story · October 2026

Behind the white lines

Our Treasurer, Peter Headington, catches up with Vince from North Curry Football Club about what it really takes to keep Fivehead Park's pitches match-ready.

Marking the lines, cutting the grass, keeping the mower going and a few determined rabbits. The work most of us never see.

Help plan the new play area and look after the MUGA, the football pitches and parking. An hour here and there makes a real difference.

Photos appeal: show us the Village Hall and Park at their best

We need good-quality photos of past events, such as weddings, parties, classes, shows, fêtes and matches, and of new things as they happen. Old or new, if it shows the Village Hall or the Park at their best, we would love to see it. If we use your photo, we will credit you by name on our photo credits page.
