Become the Founding Partner of Fivehead Park

One business, one village and a Park for every age. Help us build a modern play area and a better Park, and be remembered as the partner who made it happen.

£50,000

Founding Partner of Fivehead Park

Founding Partner of Fivehead Park: £50,000. One exclusive opportunity to help bring back play and support the Park's future. The contribution can be spread over more than one year.

Our current Play On target is £60,000, focused on reopening and improving the play area. We are obtaining quotations, and the target may increase as costs become clearer. Our longer-term ambition includes the wider park, extra parking, and improvements to the Village Hall and other buildings.

We are now costing the individual projects, starting with the play area, and we will agree with you exactly how your contribution is used.

A new board and a fresh start

Five new volunteer trustees took over the charity on 7 October 2026. We are all new, we all live in the village, and we are doing things differently.

Since then we have launched the campaign with a clear first target, set up working groups so more people in the village can get involved, and started sharing regular news from the trustees. We would like local businesses to be partners in what happens next, and our Founding Partner would be part of it from the start.

Getting children outside and active

Fivehead Park: Play On is about giving the village's children a great reason to get outside: climbing, swinging, kicking a ball and spending time with their friends, a short walk from home.

A safe, modern play area and a well-kept Park give every family in the village a good reason to head outside together. That is a story we would be proud to tell with our Founding Partner.

What your £50,000 could help achieve

A Founding Partnership would put us substantially closer to delivering our first phase of improvements. Projects being considered include:

  • Reopening the play area and addressing essential safety improvements
  • Installing modern play equipment and suitable safety surfacing
  • Improving facilities for children, families and other Park users
  • Investing in equipment and repairs to maintain the recreation ground
  • Supporting the longer-term regeneration of Fivehead Park

The final programme will depend on assessments, quotations, consultation and trustee approval. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss the individual projects and priorities with our Founding Partner.

A Park for the whole village

Fivehead Park sits beside Fivehead Village Hall on Stowey Road, for everyone in Fivehead and Swell. North Curry Football Club youth teams play here through the season, families use the MUGA after school, and the Summer Fête brings the village together.

65 years of play

The village has looked after this play area since 1961. Our archive is part of the story our Founding Partner would share.

  1. 1961

    A rocking horse and swings

Our oldest records: a metal rocking horse and 10ft swings, both dated 1961. The rocking horse is still in the play area today.

  2. 1973

    Parts for £11.47

A Wicksteed invoice lists new parts for the rocking horse and swings. The total, with VAT, is £11.47.

  3. 1982

    The rocking horse rescued

A local engineer repairs and reinstates the rocking horse, which "has given much pleasure to the children of the village over many years".

  4. 2005

A play area the children chose

In 2004 the village children vote for a climbing tower, a roundabout and new swings. They go in the next year, the same year the Village Hall opens next door.

  5. 2025

    Behind the fence

The play area closes for safety reasons in August 2025. The village rallies round, with £2,500 from The Stable Community Café and gifts from across the community.

  6. 2026

    Fivehead Park: Play On

A new board of trustees launches a fresh campaign with a first target of £60,000 and a clear aim: a modern play area for the village.

  7. Next

    Our Founding Partner

One business helps write the next chapter: the play area open again, the fences down and a Park ready for the next generation of Fivehead children.

Press, media and PR

We already have the story

Most campaigns go looking for a story. Ours was waiting in the archive: receipts from 1961, a rocking horse rescued in 1982 and a play area chosen by the village children in 2004.

Four news releases are written and ready, each from a different angle, with archive pictures, facts and logos for the press. Our Founding Partner would be part of the story from the first headline, and we will tell it everywhere we can: local papers, radio, our website, our newsletters and social media.

What being our Founding Partner means

Our Founding Partner would be at the heart of the story of Fivehead Park: thanked in the press, welcomed into village life and remembered as the business that helped a new chapter begin.

The details would be agreed with the trustees, taking account of the charity's responsibilities and any necessary permissions.

We are a registered charity, so every partnership is agreed with the trustees and must fit our charitable purposes. Recognition is agreed in writing with the trustees and is subject to any permissions needed, and we never put a business name on anything without your approval. The exact terms, including how the contribution is treated for tax, are agreed for each partnership.

  • Your story told: we will do everything we can to share it through local papers, radio and our social media
  • A short video case study about your support, for you and us to share
  • A real connection with Fivehead: invitations to village events, and to the day the fences come down
  • The chance to meet the families, clubs and groups who use the Village Hall and Park
  • Volunteering days at the Park for your team, if you would like them
  • Named as the Founding Partner of Fivehead Park in our news and press releases about Play On
  • Thanked by name at the Park entrance and on our website
  • Naming opportunities in the new play area, by agreement
  • Co-branded Play On merchandise
  • One place only. No other business can be our Founding Partner
