An hour to spare, a useful skill or an idea? Join a working group, help at an event or lend a hand now and then, in whatever way suits you.

You don't have to be a trustee to make a difference

There are five volunteer trustees looking after Fivehead Village Hall and Park, but the future of these facilities belongs to the whole community. We are building on the fantastic volunteering already happening in the village and creating clearer ways for more people to get involved.

Most of the work happens in working groups, each focused on a specific project or activity. Each group has a trustee lead who remains accountable to the board, while other volunteers help with planning, ideas and practical tasks. You can get involved in something that interests you, without committing to serving as a trustee.

Just a couple of hours to spare?

That is all most people start with. Help at one event, lend a hand with a single job or join a group for a few hours a month. There is no long commitment, and we will always say thank you.

Working groups and projects

Eight groups across five areas of work. Working groups look after things all year, and task groups and project teams come together for a particular job. Each has a trustee lead. Tap any card to see more.

Something missing?

Propose a new group, project or event. If it makes sense, the trustees can set up a small team to take it forward.

Tell us how you would like to help

You don't need to pick a group first. Tell us what you would like to do, and we will find the right place for it.

  • Show prospective hirers around the hall
  • Help at an event, or organise one
  • Help with odd jobs and work mornings (we pay for materials)
  • Share photos of events, old or new
  • Help with social media and marketing
  • Research a grant or organise a fundraiser
  • Offer professional skills
  • Simply help out now and then

Some activities need checks, training or insurance first. We will talk you through anything like that.

A Village Hall and Park shaped by the village

The trustees look after governance and risk. Everyone is welcome to help shape what happens, whether that is an hour a month or a big new project.
